Dukakis: McCain using same race tactics as ‘Willie Horton’ ad

He has said this in every election since he was creamed in his election. Go away Dukakis!

So if we put Barack in a commercial with a black guy it's racist... if there's a white woman in it that's racist too! So if we put Barry in an ad with all black people that would be racist... and if we put him in an ad with all white people that's racist.

You know what's racist? It's 94% of blacks voting for the black guy in the primaries. Two Democrats were running and the black guy was getting up to 96% of the black vote in some areas.

You know what's racist? A presidential candidate belonging to a church for 22 years based on Black Liberation Theology that clearly puts blacks before everyone else! A church that is not only based on Marxist principles as if this weren't bad enough it's based on Racist Marxist principles and this guy wants to be my president?

I am South East Asian, and I did not see racial undertones as the dominant message. What I heard was bad judgment or bad policy, by Obama in the first ad., and Dukakis in the second.

The economy and the death penalty are have have been key issues important to voters. With the recent disclosure that Obama has received over $125,000 in lobbying $$ from the failed mortgage companies, (the 2nd highest received by any congressman), the message of the ad. resonates with voters...

First of all, if you look at the beginning of the "Willie Horton ad" that is attributed in the article to George H.W. Bush, you'll see that it ISN'T from the Bush campaign at all: It was prepared and run by an independent advocacy group, the "National Security PAC."

The Bush campaign did NOT run ads showing photos of William Horton and indicating his race.

Neither did my article in the July 1988 Reader's Digest, "Getting Away With Murder" -- which chronicled the history of Dukakis's policy of granting weekend prison furloughs -- then sentence commutations -- to first-degree murderers who had been sentenced to life without parole. The substance of the charges in the TV ad are not only true; they considerably understate what Dukakis was doing.

Second, his complaint about McCain's TV ad on Franklin Raines is a distortion. Raines was not singled out because of his race, but because of his corruption. At the same time, McCain also released an ad about another Fannie Mae CEO, Jim Johnson, who also was a big-time Obama fundraiser. Johnson's photo was also shown, and he is white.

Dukakis is still smarting about losing the election after all these years, convincing himself that he lost due to dirty politics. In truth, voters rejected him largely for his record on crime, which was a disaster -- and which even caused a rebellion within his own Democrat-dominated state legislature.

McCain did another commercial with a white executive from Fannie/Freddie Mae. How do they explain that?

That tactics of the Democrats have truly become disgusting. Obama's entire campaign is based on a lie. I'm no huge fan of McCain, but I might vote for him because enough is enough.

I had always thought the Willie Horton ads were about how Dukakis was allowing convicted murderers, currently serving time, out on furloughs.
Good Liberal that he was known to be, and of course, sympathetic to to convict, rather than the victim!
BTW, Willie Horton KILLED while out on one of those Dukakis furloughs. Dukakis never apologized for that one!
I also never noticed that Horton was black, until that great race baiter of the Demokratic Party, Jesse Jackson, pointed it out.

Wow, obviously "Moses" is racist. I can't believe people still think that way this long after the Civil War. Should a "clear thinking white person" really base thier vote on race and religion like you suggest, or maybe they should logically decide which canditate is best based on their opinions and issues.
